krb13 wrote on Apr 20, '11 thank you for all this information. i have had 2 terrible experiences with mrsa, and now have another infection as we speak. this page gave me alot of useful information. i dont understand why it keeps coming back every 3rd month. i am very frustrated, and it hurts. |
mrsasurvivor wrote on Jun 4, '10 I have had 3 MRSA infections. Along with everything already mentioned, I find Cayenne Pepper pills help. They are called Cayenne Fruit at discount stores. Taking 3 or 4 a week keeps the infections at bay and I take 2 or 3 a day if I have an infection. They're a help if you can tolerate cayenne pepper. My husband puts cayenne on most of his food and has never had mrsa and rarely an infection of any kind. Eating lots of beets seems to help, also. MRSA is really awful stuff. Keep your immune system as healthy as possible along with all the other mentioned helps. |
survivemrsa wrote on Jan 30, '10 Hibiclens is an excellent product, which doctors use to scrub before surgery, and to prep patients. It is gentle to skin, and kills a host of microbials for up to 6 hours after use. This may be a better option than alcohol/antibacterial wipes and tea tree oil. It's about $5.00 a bottle at any pharmacy. But you can't apply regular lotions after cleansing with Hibiclens, as they interfere with the 6-hour protection. There are some that are CHG compatible, including pure petroleum jelly and pure aloe vera. Do your own research to learn more. |
survivemrsa wrote on Jan 22, '10 Before I leave this blog to rest, out here on the web, hoping to help others suffering with staph skin infections, I would like to add one important note. Unless you have an outbreak, it's not good to overuse antibacterial products. I do keep the wet wipes around, but I don't use them on a regular basis, same with alcohol and tea tree oil. The only thing I use regularly now, is cranberry juice :) a glass a day keeps the germies away ;) |
survivemrsa wrote on Jan 13, '10 CRANBERRIES !! Just 6 ounces of cranberry juice per day, can make a huge difference in overall health :) http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-135619820.html http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16553831 http://www.cranberryinstitute.org/news/CI_Antiadhesion_Fact_Sheet.pdf AND, they don't kill the good bacteria that are essential to good health :) |

survivemrsa wrote on May 12, '09, edited on Jun 22, '09 In a Nutshell, what worked for my horrible STAPH problem is 1) Tea Tree Oil on the infected SKIN/bumps (anytime anywhere) 2) Alcohol (70% or stronger) on q-tips in the NOSE (for about a week) 3) L. Reuteri is the most beneficial Probiotic you can take because it can eliminate staph in the RECTUM. Try a 30-day supply of supplements. (L. Reuteri is in Mother's Milk, but is not included in kefir, yogurt, sauerkraut, or buttermilk cultures.) GrapeFruit Seed extract is a potent digestional cleanser, killing staph. But it kills All microbes including the good 'flora'. So definately replenish the good bacteria with probiotics after taking grapefruit seed extract or antibiotics! These are basically the 3 places Staph lives, SKIN, NOSE, RECTUM. You Can Kill It From Your Body. I did :) |
